Heatwave: Temperatures in Doncaster to soar to 30C this Friday

It could be hotter in Doncaster on Friday than Lanzarote as a brief heatwave is forecast to hit the town and send temperatures climbing up to 30°C.

Friday is set to be the hottest day of the year, according to the Met Office which has predicted that there could be highs of 30°C in a brief burst of warm weather.

People in Doncaster could enjoy warmer weather than the likes of popular holiday destinations Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.

While temperatures have been cool so far this week, the cloudy weather many experienced in the town today will start to disappear tomorrow, Thursday, July 30 according to the latest forecasts from the Met Office.

It will get as hot as 26°C in Doncaster tomorrow and weather is predicted to be cloudy with sunny intervals, with lows of just 16°C.

The short heatwave will hit the town on Friday, July 31, causing temperatures to rise to a boiling 30°C in what could be the hottest day of the year so far.

Weather will be warm, dry, and sunny in Doncaster with temperatures only dropping back down to 17°C in the evening.

The Met Office warned people about the brief spell of sweltering hot weather in a tweet.

They said: “It will go from feeling more like autumn to summer this week, then back again over the weekend.”

The warm weather is not set to last through the weekend, as temperatures are predicted to drop down to the low 20s on Saturday and Sunday.
