Heatwave to hit Doncaster this week with temperatures peaking at 28°C

Summer weather is making a comeback, as the town will see plenty of sunshine this week with temperatures soaring to 28°C.

Hot weather is on the way to Doncaster this week, the Met Office have advised after temperatures are predicted to reach as high as 28°C on Wednesday.

This heatwave will last until Saturday and marks the return of warmer, sunny weather after much of June has been cooler and cloudy.

There will be many reaching for their picnics and barbeques to bask in the first of the hot weather today, as temperatures will get as hot as 23°C in the town.

Sunny intervals are set to continue throughout today and there will be lows of 15°C and some slight cloud cover.

The weather will continue to get warmer until it peaks on Wednesday, with highs of 28°C that will last through till Saturday.

Today marks the start of warm weather returning to Doncaster with sunny intervals throughout the day and temperatures reaching as high as 23°C. It will only get as low as 15°C this evening. It will get even warmer tomorrow, according to the Met Office who say there will be highs of 26°C with uninterrupted sunshine. Temperatures will only get as low as 16°C on Tuesday.

Tuesday

There will lots of sunshine on Tuesday, with no cloud cover and dry, bright spells. It is expected to become very warm with temperatures reaching 26°C in Doncaster tomorrow and lows of 16°C in the evening.

Wednesday

The uninterrupted sunshine will continue on Wednesday and the warm weather will get even hotter, soaring to 28°C. This heatwave will continue throughout the week until Saturday, where it will become slightly cooler. It will be very dry and sunny on Wednesday, with temperatures only getting as cold as 15°C at night time.

Thursday

Dry, sunny weather is expected on Thursday too with temperatures staying as hot as 28°C. There will be lots of sunshine along with some brief cloud cover in the afternoon. The lowest temperature will be 15°C in the evening.

The heatwave will continue for a third day on Friday. In Doncaster, temperatures will continue to soar to 28°C during the day and drop to 15°C at night time. It is expected to become cloudy in the afternoon.

Saturday

Temperatures will drop from 28°C the day before to 23°C on Saturday. There will be sunny intervals but it is set to become cloudy in the late morning which will continue to the afternoon. The lowest temperature will be 14°C.

Sunday

Colder temperatures will continue on Sunday, with highs of 21°C. The day will start off sunny in the morning before becoming cloudy, with lows of 13°C.

Social distancing guidelines

The government have updated social distancing guidelines to enable people to meet up with a maximum of six people outside.

People are encouraged to maintain a two metre distance from anyone not in their own household and continue to practice good hygiene practices.

Those in a single adult household can now form a ‘social bubble’ with one other household – meaning they can enter each others homes without social distancing.
