A smiling student with a ‘superb’ sense of humour from the Communications Specialist College has been awarded a special sports prize this week.
Patrick Queen received the prestigious Cherry Glenville Student of the Year prize at the college’s annual award giving day.
He started at the specialist college in 2011 and made an immediate impact on all the staff and students he worked with.
Bobbie Roberts, Chair of Trustees at the Communication Specialist College Doncaster, said: “We are extremely proud of all of our students and pleased to be able to give Patrick this special prize as recognition for all of his hard work.
“Patrick always has a smile on his face, his attitude and general outlook on life is truly incredible and he has been nothing short of an inspiration to students and staff alike. His positivity and superb sense of humour has meant he has endeared himself to all he has come across at the college and he serves as an excellent role model to other learners at the college showing that no matter what the obstacle is it can be overcome.”
In his time at the college, Patrick has gained two sports qualifications as well as completing a number of other short courses.
Mr Roberts added: “He worked incredibly hard during his time in college and also during his work experience on a voluntary basis. As a result of this Patrick has managed to land a dream job working for his beloved Doncaster Rovers. Staff at the college are both immensely proud of him and his achievements and proud to have had the opportunity to work with him. We wish him best of luck in his future he will greatly miss by all.”
