Pupils and staff at a Doncaster Academy are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors declared the school “outstanding”.
Inspectors visited Trinity Academy in Thorne earlier this month to interview staff and students, observe lessons and evaluate the results of parent and student questionnaires.
Inspector Clive Moss reported: “A combination of outstanding care, guidance and support, an extensive and varied curriculum and teaching that is predominantly good, results in the students making exceptional progress over the course of their time at the academy.”
He said attainment was “close to being high” and the rate of increase was consistently much better than the rate of improvement nationally.
The report said further improvement however, in the quality of teaching and learning was still needed.
Ian Brew, principal of Trinity Academy, said: “This community now knows it has the very best, although we are not complacent and will continue to push us on towards even better things.”
