Pedal power for children’s appeal

Foundation Degree students have gone the distance for charity.

Students studying the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching course at Dearne Valley College (DVC) have completed a charity bike ride to raise over £100 for The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust’s Dr Ted Children’s Appeal. The higher education students went head-to-head with fellow public services students to see who could cycle the furthest distance as part of the ‘Tour De Dearne’ Challenge.

The groups from the Wath-based College took it in turns to use exercise bikes to monitor how far they cycled as part of the challenge.

The D. Ted Children’s Appeal, part of Rotherham Hospital Charity, aims to raise funds to further improve the experience of children and families at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust by providing fun and learning accessories.
