An information centre has opened in the Frenchgate Centre for prospective Doncaster College and University Centre students.

It is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and can be found on the first floor at the shopping centre - opposite British Home Stores.

A college spokesman said: “Staffed by a friendly information team, prospective students can find out about loads of options offered by the College and University Centre including full- and part-time courses, apprenticeships, skills for work, degrees, employment zone, careers advice and business enterprise.

“Also, the college still has places available on a number of courses including sport, hair and beauty, business, hospitality management, performing arts and access to higher education.”

Any prospective students who fill in an enquiry form will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed Doncaster Rovers shirt.

The information centre will be open for the foreseeable future, but information can still be accessed through the usual channels at the college website, or by calling 0800 3587575.

Doncaster College is one of the largest higher education providers in the region. During the last academic year, more than 20,000 people enrolled on more than 500 part- and full-time courses. Across its two main campuses, the college employs about 1,000 staff and accommodates students aged 16 and over.

Its main campus is the Hub in the centre of Doncaster, and it also has a sister campus in High Melton called University Centre Doncaster.
