Cheers from over 1000 children marked the end of a successful year for Doncaster’s Children’s University.
Chancellor and local author Gervase Phinn joined Doncaster College Principal George Trow to hand certificates to youngsters from over 40 Doncaster schools.
All participating children spend time pursuing positive activities after school, and collect credits for attending on a Passport to Learning.
Outstanding Achievement Awards were presented to Mika Hepworth of Norton Junior School, and Tyler Simpson-Box of Bentley High Street Primary School. Mika achieved a maximum 1000 hours in her Passport, and Tyler was rewarded for his ‘fantastic attitude, and because he takes responsibility rather than relying on others.’
Children’s University is an international charity. Linda Metcalfe, Doncaster Children’s University Manager, said: “Children aged five to 14 years can join by contacting email@example.com.”
Thousands of attractions will stamp the Passport for Learning, with destinations listed on the national website at www.childrensuniversity.co.uk.” Anyone in Doncaster with skills to offer, or interested venues should email firstname.lastname@example.org
