One of the drivers was taken to hospital after the incident this morning, which closed Doncaster Road, Hickleton, throughout rush hour this morning. Officers were still on the scene three hours later.
South Yorkshire Police issued a statement about the collision.
It stated: “Police were called at around 7.25am to reports of a road traffic collision between five cars on Doncaster Road, Hickleton.

“Police and paramedics attended the scene. The driver of one of vehicles was taken to hospital via ambulance to be treated for minor injuries. No other injuries have been reported.
“Enquiries are ongoing. If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage, please call 101 quoting incident number 127 of March 26.”
The bus operator Stagecoach revealed earlier today that it was diverting its X19 services because the road was blocked during the rush hour.
