Driver, aged 80, taken to hospital after collision in Doncaster

An 80-year-old motorist is in hospital in a serious condition after a two car crash in Doncaster.

He was driving a blue Kia which was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Focus at the junction of Great North Road and South Avenue, Bawtry, at 2.30pm on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said the Kia was turning right out of South Avenue, heading towards Doncaster, at the time of the smash.

An 80-year-old man who was driving the Kia was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains today in a serious but stable condition.

Two women, aged 77 and 55, who were passengers in the Kia, were both taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford Focus, a 24-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
