The Dons will make the long trip to Toulouse to face a side who are tipped by many to celebrate their return to the British league by winning promotion to the Championship at the first attempt.

Full-back Tom Carr knows first hand how tough it can be to win in France - albeit against top flight opposition.

“I've not played against Toulouse before but I have played in France before when I was at York,” he said.

“We got drawn away to Catalans Dragons in the Challenge Cup and they put 90 points past us.

“Head coach Gary Thornton was in charge at York at the time so he'll know what it is all about and how important it is to get the travellling arrangements right in order to give ourselves the best possible chance.”

Thornton took advantage of a blank weekend recently to take in Toulouse's league game at Hunslet and came away impressed.

“They are a full-time team and look to have recruited well,” he said.
