Doncaster's out of town pubs busy as drinkers return after lockdown
Doncaster’s out of town pubs have reported a busy first day with drinkers flocking back for a pint after the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Town centre pubs have been busy – but village hostelries have also proved popular, with out of town venues enjoying brisk trade.
From today, pubs, restaurants and cafes across England have been allowed to re-open – but can only serve customers outside.
In recent weeks, many Doncaster town centre pubs have been adapting their premises to allow outdoor table service.
Many pubs have introduced a booking system – and many have been innudated with customers keen to raise a pint to their lips for the first time in months.
Among those busy on the first day of trading were the Hatfield Chace in Hatfield and The Wheatley Hotel, where drinkers could be seen enjoying a few beers in the large beer garden at the rear of the landmark pub.
Many other pubs have reported busy beer gardens, with queues also developing outside stores such as Primark as well as hair salons.
