The Town Field men started the brighter and went ahead in the eighth minute through Matt Gibson’s 14th goal of the campaign.

Deeside drew level on 25 minutes when Matt Steventon took advantage of a defensive mix-up, and went ahead midway through the second half when Joe Wright deflected home a well-worked penalty corner routine. Doncaster’s response was immediate as Dan West rounded the last defender before firing home.

The game appeared to be heading for a draw but, with three minutes to go, Pete Bartlett made his first mistake of the day to allow Steventon to score his second.

Deeside added a fourth in the final minute through Christopher Barber.

n Doncaster Ladies’ hopes of promotion back to the National League suffered a blow when they could only draw 1-1 at lowly Didsbury.

They now must rely on leaders Timperley slipping up in one of their next two games before the two sides meet on the last day of the season.
