Doncaster Art Fair opens in the town this Sunday

The art – featuring a range of media including painting, sculpture, illustration, ceramics, mixed media, textile, and photography – will be showcased alongside the works of designers and contemporary craft exhibitors from across the region on Sunday, bringing the town centre to life with colour for the day.

There will be over 500 original art works on display at the unique art fair, which will allow Doncaster business and gallery owners and the general public come out in mass to meet the exhibiting artists to buy, browse, discuss art, eat and drink.

Chinwe Russell, director of Doncaster Art Fair, said: “Doncaster Emerging and professional art fair aims to celebrate and promote the works of visual artists in the region and beyond.

“This unique art fair gives the art-loving public, galleries and businesses the opportunity to buy art direct from the artists over conversations and appreciation of the works available for sale. The public will have the opportunity to meet the artists themselves who run their own stand on the day This helps to foster better understanding between the artist, the buyer and the work.

“This fourth edition of the art fair will take place across three venues in the town centre on Sunday: the Wool Market, the Magdalen, and the market stalls.

“The aim of this show is to help these artists to tap into audiences that would not necessarily be available to them and encourage them in their journey. I do hope that many people will join us on the day to encourage the exhibitors and, most importantly, to take home a piece of original artwork.”

The Adam and Eve collection of 10 new works by Chinwe Russell will be revealed for the first timeat the fair.
