Doncaster World Cup: Tickhill voted town's best place for second year in a row
Over the last few days, we’ve been asking you to vote for your favourite parts of the town in a fun World Cup style contest, to tie in with this summer's Euro 2020 football competition.
And after thousands of votes and hours of debate, Tickhill eventually emerged victorious to claim the title of Doncaster’s number one suburb or village, repeating its victory of last year.

Last year, Sprotbrough were narrowly edged out in the final, but this year, the village will have to settle for third place after beating Kirk Sandall in the third and fourth place play off with a 74% share.
Tickhill enjoyed a relatively stress free run to victory, seeing off Moorends, Intake and Blaxton in the group stage, defeating Fishlake in the last 32, Barnburgh in the last 16 and then Cusworth in the quarter finals.
A crushing victory over last year’s runners-up Sprotbrough in the semi-finals was coupled with a similarly comprehensive defeat of Bessacarr in the final.
