Doncaster women launch midnight walk to support brave family

Friends of a young Doncaster family stricken by cancer are to fundraise for them by striding out at their undies!

Around 20 female friends of Scott. Kirsten and Harry Richardson will don bright underwear (over outerwear) or Liverpool kits, for a sponsored walk, in a bid to relieve financial strain for the Kirk Sandall family, and enable them to share happy times together.Scott, 28, has been battling cancer for over a year. He and wife Kirsten have a three year-old son, Harry.A spokeswoman for the fundraisers said that the great strength shown by the family throughout Scott's illness has impressed all who know them. She added: "We all want to do as much as we can to help from day to day."The circular walk will take place along Great North Road from Bawtry and back through Austerfield on the night of August 4 and 5. Any donations would be appreciated. A link has been set up at schemes to help the family are in the planning too, including efforts by Scott’s friends who are fellow Doncaster Rovers’ supporters.
