The incident occurred at around 4pm on Thursday, 19 November, sparking a British Transport Police investigation

Investigating officer PC Wayne Pikett said: “The victim placed his sports bag on the platform bench. He took a call on his mobile phone and as he was speaking, moved away from the bench.

“A man then sat down on the bench next to the bag before picking it up and leaving the station via the subway with it.”

Officers believe the man in the image could have vital information about the incident.
