That was the verdict from boss Darren Ferguson after watching his side take another big step towards securing promotion by beating Cheltenham Town.

The 2-0 victory extended the gap to fourth place to 14 points and also saw Rovers again hit the two-points-per-game average.

“We’re bang on target with ten games to go,” said Ferguson. It’s going to be difficult to get right on 92 points at the end of the season, I have to say.

“But for me the message to my players is we want to win the league.

“We’re four points ahead of Plymouth, plus quite a few goals which will come into it, but we’ve just got to beat the next team in front of us which is Notts County. I’m not looking any further ahead than that.”

Goals in each half from Andy Butler and John Marquis clocked up Rovers’ 12th league win on home soil this season.

“I felt it was a comfortable 2-0 win and it should’ve been more,” said Ferguson. “Apart from the opening ten minutes when they had a few corners, which we dealt with fine, I thought it was a professional performance from the team.

“Goals make a difference in games and to get that first goal at home, the first time in four games at home we have gone in front, was important.

“I felt we managed the game fairly well after that.”
