McCann revealed he has agreed deals for the pair, including personal terms, with the transfers likely to go through early in the winter window provided he gets the backing of the Rovers board to proceed.

The Rovers boss was due to meet with the board earlier this week, armed with a list of potential targets as well as those he is determined to secure quickly.

'We've lined two up and we're just waiting on the go-ahead to get them done," McCann told the Free Press.

'I'll be speaking to the board on this week.

'We'll be bringing, two, possibly three in.

'The two I've said have been agreed with both clubs and agents.

'That's just me really finalising it when I can and when we get together as a board.

'Hopefully we can do that this week.'

McCann insists the experience of the first four months of the season shows he needs to add to his squad if Rovers are to make a sustained challenge for a top six finish.

Top of his list is adding depth to his squad as he looks to keep competition high across the pitch.

'We need that, we definitely do," he said.

'I feel as if we've got a good group. I feel as if I've got, if I'm being honest, at the minute 15 or 16 players that can threaten the team.

'We need to add to that if we're going to be serious about challenging for play-offs or above.

'We need to make sure we're covering all bases and that we're going to January further and further with a good strong squad.'
