Doncaster Rovers: Supporters won't give us time admits Ferguson

Darren Ferguson insists he knows Doncaster Rovers supporters are unlikely to show patience with him and his side this season.

Ferguson expressed his frustration at the opening day defeat to Accrington Stanley.

It is something he expects will be shared by supporters, particularly those who travelled from Doncaster and made up almost half the overall attendance at the Wham Stadium.

And Ferguson says similar results cannot follow if Rovers are to please their fans after what has been a particularly difficult 2016.

“It’s a disappointing start for everyone," he said.

“It was a great support, a fantastic support.

“Again, they’re going to be frustrated, they’re not going to give us time.

“I have asked for patience but they want results and quite rightly so."
