The 28-year-old centre back rejected two new contract offers from fellow League Two outfit Leyton Orient, where he was captain.

He scored ten goals in 157 appearances for the O’s after joining from Bournemouth in the summer of 2012.

Boss Darren Ferguson said: “He’s a very good centre half who can play in a back two or three. He’s aggressive in the way he plays as well as being very good on the ball.

“He has lots of experience and knows the league very well. He was outstanding when he played for Leyton Orient in League One and got to the play-offs, so I know he can play at a high level.

“He is going to be a real key player for us and was one of my top targets. It’s taken a while but we’ve managed to get this done and I’m delighted.

“He understands what I’m about and how I want to play which suits him and I’m really looking forward to working with him. He’s a brilliant signing for the football club.”

Baudry came through the Le Havre Academy and played for Troyes before signing for Bournemouth.

He becomes the fourth new arrival at Doncaster in little over a week, following deals for midfielder Tommy Rowe, winger Matty Blair and goalkeeper Ross Etheridge.

The Free Press also understands a deal for forward Gary McSheffrey has been completed and will be announced by Rovers next week.
