James Coppinger is fully confident that Doncaster Rovers will suffer no hangovers from only their second league defeat of the season because of the positivity of the group.

One of the biggest unanswered questions about the current Rovers squad is how they will deal with setbacks, having only lost once in the league prior to Tuesday night's defeat at Accrington Stanley.

But Coppinger believes they will have no problem shaking off the disappointment, with the positive attitude of boss Grant McCann proving infectious for the squad.

'They're a positive group,' Coppinger said.

'The manager filters down the way he is and we're positive in the fact we won't shirk away from our responsibilities and we know what we need to do on Saturday.

'We know we need to get back to winning ways and the sooner the better.'

The veteran midfielder says it will be down to him and other senior figures in the squad to spot any fellow players who are troubled by the defeat.

But he feels like the manner of the performance against Accrington should mean there are few in the group that are dwelling on the result.

'Dealing with disappointments and setbacks is one of the biggest things in professional sport,' he said.

'The better you can deal with that and the better you can process it, it gives you the best chance of succeeding.

'As an experienced professional it's my job, it's Andy Butler's job, Tommy Rowe, people like that who have gone through it and come out of the other side, to try to instill it in the younger lads.

'There are some lads who you can see are disappointed, who are down.

'But it happens. You lose games, it's part of football.

'If you're going to lose games, lose them like we did on Tuesday night because I thought we performed well.'
