Paul Warne’s side look to get as many balls into the box as possible and Ferguson says his players must be prepared for an all together different experience at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

“It will be tin hats on Saturday,” he told the Free Press. “I’ll be honest, I’ve not seen a team play like this for a long time.

“The way they just throw the ball in the box – it’s just constant.

“Any throw-in anywhere near 30 or 40 yards, bang it’s in the box.

“The game is stopped a lot. The ball was only in play for just over half the game when they played Shrewsbury at the weekend which tells its own story.

“They don’t like teams getting a flow, they press.

“We have to deal with all that, we’ll have to compete as you’d expect in a derby and we have to find a way of trying to play a way we want to play.

“They will try to stop that but there are certain things that stand out which we’ll have to do very, very well.

“We’ve got three days to work on it, which I like.

“I’m looking forward to it, I really am.”

Rotherham have won their last six to build a cushion in the play-off places and suggest a push for automatic promotion may still be possible.
