Under Ferguson Rovers have signed defender Craig Alcock and loan deals for two goalkeepers, a wing back, five midfielders and two forwards.

Rovers have kept six clean sheets in Ferguson’s 31 games in charge.

When Rovers’ boss was asked last week whether, on reflection, he would have preferred to bring in another defender, Ferguson replied: “At the time in January we were going very well and we tried to get players in but I’m not one for just getting anyone in.

“I’ve even shown that in the [emergency] window that’s just shut.

“People might argue that the ones we’ve got in haven’t been good enough but again I would disagree.

“Craig Alcock’s been very good, Conor Grant was outstanding and Felipe Mattioni made a big difference. Those three alone have made a big difference to the team.

“[Lynden] Gooch came in and did bits but it was just unfortunate that we went on a bad run at the time.

“There’s always things you would like to do differently,” he added.

“You look back and you think you’ve made mistakes.”

“At the end of the day I’m a human being and people make mistakes but you’ve got to make decisions in my job and that’s what I’ve done.”
