In his first full season as Millers manager Warne has guided his side into a strong push for promotion following last season's slump out of the Championship.

Ferguson spoke of his admiration for the side Warne has put together and sees parallels with his own squad at Doncaster Rovers.

"He's done a very good job in his first job in management," Ferguson said.

"What he's managed to do it get a collective group that is working hard for each other.

"That's what you want as a manager - to be able to trust your players.

"You see he trusts his like I trust mine.

"He's found a way of getting a consistent team.

"Smith has come in and been a real pivot up front, replacing Moore.

"They've found consistency in performances and selection but also momentum.

"When you've got those three things it's powerful."

The Millers head into Saturday's clash on the back of six straight wins and 13 matches unbeaten.

Their form was much more patchy when they visited the Keepmoat earlier this season, where they earned a 1-1 draw with a goal from Kieffer Moore in injury time.

"I thought they were a bit fortunate to get a draw here," Ferguson said.

"I thought we played well against them."
