Darren Ferguson says the next two weeks will be vital for Doncaster Rovers outcast Dany N'Guessan.

The French forward was transfer-listed at the end of last season but has yet to secure a move to a new employer.

He is now back in training after a long-running injury issue.

Rovers boss Ferguson says the pressure is on the 28-year-old to find a new club before the transfer window closes at the end of the month and where he is at the start of September is largely down to N'Guessan himself.

"These next two weeks are important for him, in trying to get a club," Ferguson said.

"The closer we get to the end of the window, I'd like to think something would happen.

"There is always the possibility of paying him up. It's not really ideal for anyone I don't think.

"He's back training, which is the most important thing because it's very rare you'd take a player that's injured.

"A lot of the answers to questions are up to Dany really."

Ferguson insists even if N'Guessan was to remain with the club beyond the end of the month, he would be well down the pecking order for places.

He said: "If he doesn't move on, he will be here.

"The only way he wouldn't be here then is if we negotiate a deal and he goes as a free agent.

"If the window shuts, he is here."I think at this stage I've made it clear he's not in my plans.

"As a manager you don't really want to say he'll never play for the club again because it can be a dangerous thing.

"But clearly, I've got other people well in front of him."

N'Guessan has made only nine appearances for Rovers since joining the club last summer. He has made only three appearances since Ferguson took charge last October.
