Jubilant Doncaster Rovers fans can toast their team’s League One championship title success with a free day out at the races this weekend.
Doncaster Racecourse is encouraging supporters to mark the club’s dramatic last day promotion winning joy with a trip to Town Moor on Saturday.
Bosses have announced that Rovers supporters can gain free access.
It comes after it was announced Rotherham United fans, who saw their side achieve promotion from League Two, could take advantage of a similar offer earlier this week.
Doncaster fans should fill out an online form at www.surveymonkey.com/s/DRFCRACES and present either their season ticket or a ticket stub from the 2012/13 season to attend the May 4 race evening.
Entry is free for the fan and up to three other guests.
Mark Spincer, managing director at Doncaster Racecourse, said that he was keen to engage with sports fans and help them to celebrate their team’s success with a great day out at the races.
He said: “Saturday’s result was absolutely fantastic and one that has created such a buzz in Doncaster. We’re keen to create an opportunity for fans to celebrate in style and enjoy a fantastic day with us at Doncaster Racecourse – Saturday will be just that.
“As a sport and leisure business, we are always delighted to see other sports institutions in the area doing well, so we’re delighted to give football fans an opportunity to mark what was a really fantastic result, with a great offer that will bring together both Rotherham and Doncaster supporters for a big celebration.”
The race evening will feature seven races, and will be followed by entertainment for fans. Gates open at 3pm.
