Doncaster Rovers Belles ready for top flight return

Doncaster Rovers Belles make their long-awaited return to FAWSL1 action on Thursday night at home to reigning champions Chelsea (7.45pm).

The Belles were infamously demoted from the top flight in 2013 for failing to meet FA criteria.

After securing promotion at the second time of asking last year, Doncaster return to the big time against the reigning league champions and FA Women’s Cup holders in front of the live television cameras.

Belles boss Glen Harris said: “It’s going to be a tough test. They proved last year they were the best team in the country.

“They’ve retained their squad and strengthened with two or three signings so they will prove to be tough opposition.

“However, we’re prepared. We’re ready and we’re going to give it a good go.”

Tickets are priced £7 for adults, £2 concessions.

Rovers season ticket holders can gain free entry by producing their season ticket at the turnstiles.
