The League One outfit begin their preparations for the new campaign against Super League side Hull FC at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday (3pm).

“Everyone here is itching to get going,” said Hall.

“And I think the Hull boys will be too after their game at York got called off.

“This is the first chance the Hull people will get to see their players and this is the first one for our fans to see our players.

“Both clubs have had a massive turnover in playing personnel so I’m sure there’ll be plenty of fans wanting to come down and have a look at what’s in store this season.

“I’m expecting Hull to bring a strong squad. Lee Radford had a plan for their friendlies but that’s been thrown into a bit of disarray by what happened with the York game.

“He might bring the big boys. Hopefully he does.

“It’ll be interesting to see which side he brings, and also what side Gary [Thornton] goes with for us as well.

“We’ve got a couple of lads carrying knocks and a couple getting over surgery so this game might come a bit too soon for some.

“But everyone’s wanting to play and stake a claim for a shirt for the first league game.”

Doncaster Toll Bar dummy half Kieran Cross, 20, has signed for the Dons after a successful trial.
