The Dons will be aiming to clip Hunslet Hawks' wings in tonight's League One Super 8s clash at the South Leeds Stadium.

Like Barrow, who beat the Dons at the Keepmoat Stadium at the weekend, Hunslet have hit form at the right time and have won seven of their last eight games.

They have moved level on points with Doncaster, who have a game in hand, and will take their place in the top five if they win tonight.

“Hunslet have won their first two Super 8 games and they’ll be up for tonight’s game,” said Dons boss Gary Thornton.

“We know what they can do having lost 48-6 there in the Challenge Cup – they were terrific that day.

“Having said that we got our revenge when we beat them there in the league.

“Half-back Simon Brown is obviously a pivotal player and they’ve got some decent firepower on their left edge and a very good hooker as well.

“The players were very disappointed after the Barrow game as they were when I showed them footage on Tuesday night and know that they have to be better and that it’s a real four-pointer because we can’t afford to drop further down the table.”

Thornton, who could take a gamble with forward Mason Tonks and play-maker Jordan Howden, says he is looking for a positive reaction from his depleted squad and for the team spirit to shine through.
