The former Warrington Academy prospect has scored three tries in the opening two games including a brace in the win at Hunslet on Friday night.

But it is the late length-of-the-field touchdown he scored in the 40-12 defeat by Barrow at the Keepmoat Stadium – a strong contender for the club’s try of the season - which has had everyone talking about him.

“It took some scoring and my legs went with it being at the end of the game and having put in a lot of work,” he said.

“I felt that I was never going to get there with having to weave in and out of the cover in their 20.

“It was a pretty special try,” said Dons boss Gary Thornton, who should know having played on the wing for the likes of Batley and Wakefield.

Thornton, who has also been impressed by Foggin-Johnson’s defensive work and willingness to bring the ball out of defence, moved in quickly when he became available at the end of last season.

“I felt that I needed to be playing regularly and to test myself physically in a senior league,” said Foggin-Johnson.

“I’m enjoying my time at Doncaster even though it has been a bit up and down at times and I’ve not always got as much ball as I would have liked due to the disruptions we’ve had at half-back.”

Looking ahead to Sunday’s testing home game the speedy 19-year-old said: “Toulouse are the favourites and they are the only unbeaten side at this level this season, so we know it’s going to be tough. But I thought we did ourselves justice on the night over there and I remember their coach saying after the game that we were the best side they had played.

“We've already shown that we can beat them down the middle. They don’t have as big a pack as some other teams, nor are they as physical, but they are very mobile and creative and very good out wide.”
