Doncaster reality TV star and model announces baby joy as she reveals she's expecting

A Doncaster model and reality TV star has revealed she’s expecting her first baby next year.

Elena Tsikkini, who has appeared on a string of TV shows, took to Facebook to announce the impending arrival of her baby with husband Kyriacos, which is due next April.

The 29-year-old, who lives in Hatfield, first shot to fame after winning the title of Miss British Beauty Curve, a glamour contest for plus size models seven years ago.

She said: “We are lost for words.

“Holding the secret for three months before announcing it was the hardest longest secret we ever had to keep.”

Elena said the new baby will be the first grandchild for both sets of parents and added: "The only downside is that due to Covid I had to attend the scan by myself which I was gutted about.

“But we still found the positive and happiness out of 2020 being such a terrible year for many.”

The pair tied the knot in 2018 in front of nearly 700 guests in a traditional Greek wedding ceremony after Kyri, full name Kyriacos, staged a dramatic flash mob wedding proposal at a Yorkshire airport.

She added: “Finding out our beautiful news is like the Cinderella story with a cherry on top!”

The model, who has also appeared on Coach Trip and quiz show Catchphrase, was swept off her feet when Kyri, 33, proposed to her in front of hundreds of passengers at Leeds Bradford Airport after a romantic break in Paris.

She first hit the headlines in 2013 when she won the Miss British Beauty Curve title.

Working at the time at Harry's, her parents' fish and chip in Dunsville, it earned her the title Miss Fish and Hips.

Greek Cypriot Elena, a former Campsmount School pupil also had a well publicised Twitter spat with business mogul Lord Sugar who faced criticism after be branded her 'fatty' in a tweet.

The couple previously ran Edlington’s Red Sea Fish Bar but both now work for paymentsense, a merchant service provider looking after businesses providing card machines and payment options.

She added: “We feel more than ready for this moment, and we can’t wait to make our very own future with a big family hopefully.”

She said childhood friend Giorgio Venizelos, who runs his family fish and chip shop Davians in Rotherham, will be the baby’s godfather.

Elena added that she will be keeping followers up to date with her pregnancy on her Instagram blog @mrstsikkini.
