Doncaster Phoenix show their support for Ethan Germain
The Castle Park club are to raise funds for six-year-old Ethan Germain who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of one.
Ethan’s parents are Nick and Lindsey.
Nick played in the EDF Energy Vase final for Phoenix at Twickenham in 2008 and spent eight seasons at the club up to 2012.

Hide AdEthan was guest of honour at Phoenix’s recent home game against Newport Salop.
A club statement said: “Ethan underwent SDR surgery at Leeds General Infirmary in November 2016.
“This spinal surgery removed the spasticity in his legs, reducing discomfort and giving him the opportunity to build his strength and coordination.
“The surgery was a great success and Ethan has made amazing progress towards greater independence and mobility.

Hide Ad“The surgery and post-operative therapy has been self-funded as it is not currently available on the NHS. £30,000 of the £45,000 target has been raised to date in partnership with a registered charity.
“Nick and Lindsey continue to fundraise for weekly physiotherapy, intensive courses and the equipment needed to support his progress over the coming years.
“Doncaster Phoenix RUFC are pleased to advise that they will support Ethan as our chosen club charity for the remainder of 2018.”

Hide AdPhoenix supported local girl Mae Fox in 2015 and the Rossington branch of Riding for the Disabled in 2016.
Last year they raised £500 for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund based at Leeds General Infirmary.
