The parks are among a record-breaking 1,883 UK green spaces which received the valued prize this week.

This international award, given annually to the 'best parks and green spaces in the UK', is globally renowned as a 'hallmark of quality' and helps to attract visitors from across the country.

The announcement also coincides with ‘Love Parks’ week, where people in Doncaster and across the country are celebrating parks and open spaces in their community.

Coun Joe Blackham, cabinet member for highways, street scene and trading services “We are absolutely delighted that four parks in the borough have received a Green Flag Award. Once again it’s fantastic to see the progress our communities and street scene teams have made in creating clean, tidy and enjoyable open spaces for local residents being recognised.

Coun Chris McGuinness, cabinet member for communities, voluntary sector and environment, said: “We know how much quality parks matter to both residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication, both from council staff and dedicated groups of volunteers and ‘Friends-of’ groups, that goes into maintaining these green spaces to such a high standard.”
