A man from Doncaster has been jailed for causing death by dangerous driving following a horror smash in Mexborough.
Aleksandrs Ivanovs, aged 31, of Manvers Road, Mexborough was given a six year prison sentence and banned from driving for seven years and eight months following the crash that killed John Thompson, aged 72, from Conisbrough.
Mr Thompson died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision, which occurred at around 10.20am on Doncaster Road on February 21.
Three cars were involved in the crash; a black Audi A4, which was travelling towards Mexborough from Denaby Main, and a white Vauxhall Corsa and a green Toyota Corolla, both travelling in the opposite direction.
Mr Thompson, the driver of the Toyota, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary but was pronounced dead a short time after arrival.
