Adam Barnes set himself the challenge of riding from Eyemouth in the Scottish borders back to Doncaster to raise cash for Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital and Doncaster’s St John’s Hospice in Doncaster following the death of his dad Mark in May.

And he was welcomed home on Sunday by jubilant friends and family after competing the 292 mile ride using what he described as a ‘granny shopper bike’ and with no experience of cycling.
