Hurrell came through the ranks at Leicester Tigers and joined Doncaster from Coventry last summer.

Knights’ leading try scorer Latu Makaafi, who has 17 tries to his name this season, was named Fans’ Player of the Season.

Skipper Micheal Hill picked up the ‘Top Gun’ award for the best defensive effort, while winger Tyson Lewis collected the Clubman prize for his work with the mini-junior and academy sections at Castle Park.

The Try of the Season was won by Andy Bulumakau for his effort against Yorkshire Carnegie in February.
