Doncaster girl, 11, assaulted by man as she walked to school

An 11-year-old girl has been left 'shaken' after allegedly being assaulted by a man who stopped his van to carry out the attack on a Doncaster street.

The incident occurred at around 8.25am on Thursday, April 21 when the girl was walking along Amersall Road, Scawthorpe on her way to school.

As she was walking between the Best One shop and the rear of Tom’s Traditional Chip Shop, near the car park, the girl is understood to have been stopped by a man driving a silver Peugeot van.

The man is alleged to have got out the van and assaulted the girl, before getting back into the van and driving off along Amersall Road in the direction of Jossey Lane.

The girl was not injured but was shaken and distressed by the incident.

The man is described as being white, aged between 30 and 45-years-old, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build.

He is described as having a bald head and believed to have been wearing a dark-coloured jacket and dark trousers.

He is understood to have spoken with a local accent.

Police have this afternoon launched a public appeal to help find the man involved in the alleged assault.
