The Doncaster food venues told to improve during lockdown after hygiene inspections

One Chinese takeaway in Doncaster was given a zero rating after a visit by inspectors while a pizza takeaway shop in Mexborough received a one star rating – and both have been orderered to make improvements.
A Conisbrough sandwich bar received 2 stars and bosses were told improvement was necessary, although the firm has since been regraded.

Hide AdTwo other Doncaster businesses also received low ratings in inspections carried out by Doncaster Council since lockdown began on March 23.
Fairway, a Chinese takeaway in Beckett Road received a zero rating on June 25. It means urgent major improvement is necessary across food hygiene, food safety, handling and cleanliness, the inspection report said.
Mezza Pizza in Bank Street, Mexborough was awarded a one star rating on June 15, with inspectors saying major improvement was necessary in food safety management and improvement necessary in cleanliness and conditions.
Bella’s Butties, in Church Street, Conisbrough was visited on June 11 and awarded a two star rating. Inspectors said that while food handling and food safety was generally satisfactory, improvement was necessary in cleanliness, condition and facilities of the building. The shop has since been re-inspected and given a four star ‘good’ rating.

Hide AdTwo other Doncaster businesses, EKOC-1 Ltd in Owston Road, Carcroft and Save A Lot in Baxtergate, Doncaster also received one star ratings, meaning major improvements are necessary.
EKOC-1 was visited on June 23 while Save A Lot was inspected on June 22.
