Moustafa Shalaby of Palmer Street, Hyde Park is believed to have made suggestive comments to the woman and asked her to get into the front of his taxi with him during the incident, a Doncaster Council spokesman said.

The incident took place in August last year and Shalaby, aged 34, appealed the council’s decision to revoke his private hire driver licence on October 20, 2015.

The appeal was dismissed by the court and he was ordered to pay £554.11 towards Doncaster Council's costs.

Peter Dale, Director of Regeneration and Environment, said: "Most of our drivers are law abiding citizens who provide a great service to passengers in Doncaster. The licensing system is here to keep people safe from unscrupulous would-be drivers and I am pleased to see the courts backing our decisions once again."
