Doncaster Council becomes first in the UK to scoop top honour

The accreditation, launched by the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, was granted to Metro Clean - Doncaster’s in-house cleaning team - following a comprehensive assessment of its management structure and operations by an independent assessor.

Metro Clean was said to have successfully demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of consistent, quality services designed to meet customer needs and expectations throughout Doncaster.

The company covers about 325 sites across the town, including at schools and academies, all council buildings, St Leger Homes sites and eight health centres on behalf of the NHS.

The accreditation certificate was presented to Doncaster mayor Ros Jones recently at the Mansion House.

Mayor Jones was full of praise for the hard-working staff who scooped the accolade.

She said: “I was proud to accept the award on behalf of Metro Clean and Doncaster Council.

“The award is fantastic recognition to all the wonderful work of a dedicated team of staff committed to providing a high quality service to the people of Doncaster.

“I am delighted that Doncaster Council is the first local authority within the UK to receive this prestigious award.”
