Doncaster children’s home judged good by Ofsted

The Tickhill Square children’s home in Doncaster is the third run by the Trust to be rated as good. It has one further home at Rossington that is currently classed as outstanding.

The Trust was set up in October 2014 to deliver innovative children’s social care on behalf of Doncaster Council. Inspectors noted that young people were “safe and supported with clear safeguarding strategies and boundaries,” in its latest report on Tickhill Square.

They also commented on strong leadership by the manager; the partnership between staff and families of young people who live there; and the way young people are encouraged to take care of their health and make the most of their education. Refurbishments at the home have been designed to make it feel less institutional, and staff are confident and enthusiastic, said inspectors.
