Doncaster’s oldest cancer charity is set to launch an appeal with a stylish difference.
Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust and is aiming to collect hundreds of scarves for its mile of scarves campaign, launching tomorrow in the Frenchgate Centre.
As part of the campaign shoppers are being asked to donate a scarf as well as make a monetary donation to the charity in honour of a loved one whose life has been touched by cancer.
Frenchgate are hoping to collect enough scarves to create a mile of scarves to be displayed within the shopping centre.
Once the charity campaign is completed all the scarves will be sold with all funds raised being donated to the charity.
A number of celebrities have been asked to donate scarves and these will be auctioned off for the charity in spring 2016.
Celebrity Juice and Through the Keyhole presenter Keith Lemon has made the first donation of a signed scarf.
Doncaster college fashion students will also be turning some of the scarves into one of kind outfits available to bid for in the auction. Scarves can be donated at the Frenchgate Customer Services desk, Danum Hotel, The Troy and Tom Wood Florists.
