A Doncaster boy had to be rescued by firefighters after getting his leg trapped last night.

The boy, aged about 10, was walking along West Road, Woodlands, when he slipped and managed to wedge his leg between a lamp post and a wall.

Adwick fire crews attended and removed his trainer before manipulating the leg so it could be pulled free.

It took only a few minutes to get him out and he did not suffer any injuries, said a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
