Doncaster area food bank given Christmas boost

The 'Vanta Claus', run by Dawsonrentals Vans, dropped in at the Addison Road Day Centre in Maltby to deliver food to the centre's food bank project.

The firm has been delivering £1000 worth of food to seven food banks across the UK in Vanta.

Vanta’s bright neon lights and Christmas themed wrap will get its employees, customers and suppliers in the festive spirit, supporting local food banks throughout the UK.

Alongside Vanta’s tour of the UK, the business will also be raising money for FareShare, a charity that is fighting hunger in the UK by tackling food waste. A JustGiving FareShare page has been set up in parallel where every £1 donated generates four meals.

Gareth Jones, Managing Director at Dawsonrentals | vans said, “We wanted to give a little back throughout December by donating food to local food banks and generating funds for food waste champions, FareShare. We can’t wait for Vanta to start its journey and hope that Vanta will grab the attention of the public whilst out on the road encouraging people to go the extra mile and get involved.”

FareShare currently provides nearly 8,000 tonnes of food to help feed over 167,000 people every week, and it’s great to get the support of Dawsonrentals | vans to enable us to do more.”

Vanta will be travelling the length of the country, delivering to food banks located in Cardiff, Doncaster, Ipswich, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Reading and Skelmersdale.
