A DEAF trust has been recognised for its work in education and providing support for learners.
The Doncaster Deaf Trust supports people aged from four to 63 who are deaf or hard of hearing.
It has been chosen by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service and programme co-ordinators Natspec to lead research into training and development needs of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).
After discovering there was insufficient face-to-face support for LSAs, the partners decided to create and manage a local training network.
Since April this year, the network has run nine informative sessions for LSAs and managers across subjects including Autism, deaf awareness and understanding self harm.
