Diamond day for the Hooles
It was a double hit for diamond Epworth couple Mavis and Branson Hoole, when they married 60 years ago.
The pair, of Greengate, Epworth, celebrated their special date this month at their daughter Debra’s home in Haxey, with a party for 35. England billiards player and former cobbler Branson, 84, and Mavis, 80, met on a blind date to the cinema in Epworth.
But love blossomed slowly because Mavis could beat him on her bike, she confessed.
The avid charity worker said: “We had an absolutely perfect time in the sun on Saturday.”
The couple have two daughters and four grandchildren.
