A developer has submitted a plan to build a block ofÂ flats in a Doncaster village.Â
Planning agent Max Jones of Max Design ConsultancyÂ has applied for permission to construct 14 two-bedroomÂ apartmentsÂ on land formerly owned by sofa giant DFS in Carcroft.Â
TheÂ development will consist of five units on the ground and first floor with four units on the second floor.Â

Plans also include 14 car parking spaces, seven for visitors and two disabled bays.Â
Access to the flats will be provided from the back of High Street between the junctions of Crossdale Gardens and Owston Road.Â
In documents sent to council planning officers, Mr Jones said: 'The site is located on the High Street which has a mixture of commercial, retail and residential uses and predominantly two-storey with elements being two-storey with dormer construction. The buildings are built with traditional materials with either brick or render as a finish and concrete or slate roof tiles.
'The site is accessed from the rear of High Street and the site plan indicates that the refuse area can be serviced from the high street. The site is located within the town centre and offers high sustainability credentials good access to public transport and the rail and bus services.
"The proposed layout will allow for achieving minimum overlooking distances to properties and also to achieve sufficient amenity space and car parking requirements.'
