Rose Bunce has issued a heartbreaking plea through social media for the return of the necklace which she has described as "the only jewellery I have that I was ever bought by someone who truly loved me."

Mrs Bunce said the distinctive necklace was inside a bag left in her car at the Hartshead Square car park in Sheffield city centre earlier this month - and she is desperate to get it back.

She wrote: "This is very hard for me to post. I'm talking to the stranger that has my necklace that you see me wearing in this picture.

"This necklace was brought for me by my daddy who has now died - he brought it me 40 years ago when I was 15 and it has rarely has left my neck.

"There is a personal story why it is so precious to me and I can't put into words how broken hearted I am to have lost this. PLEASE if you have this just put it in an envelope and post it back to me. I beg you. It's The only jewellery I HAVE that I was ever brought from someone who truly loved me."

Mrs Bunce said the necklace was in a black Gucci holdalll that was mistakenly left by her car in on December 2 at around 12.15pm.

She said: "I was parked next to a scaffolding van. On my return my bag had gone."

"Unfortunately, it had not been handed in. There were lots of expensive items in the bag but I don't care about them."

She said that the thief, with her "love and blessings" can keep the other items with the safe return of her necklace.

She added: "You can keep everything else that you took in the bag without having any guilt. Because if not deep down you will have guilt.

Anyone who has the necklace or knows its whereabouts can send it to Mrs Bunce at Cambridge Weight Loss Centre, Durngate Street, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1JP.
