Detectives name Doncaster murder victim

A murder victim found with multiple injuries in his Doncaster home has been named today as Christopher Cumpsty.

The 43-year-old’s body was discovered at around 4.30am on Friday, March 11 at his home in Cross Street, Balby.

Over the weekend, a 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Victoria Short, leading the investigation, said: “We have now formally identified Christopher Cumpsty and would like to issue a fresh appeal for information or any witnesses.

“The post mortem revealed he died from multiple injuries and we need your help to identify those responsible for this crime.

“As part of our enquiries, we are keen to trace Christopher’s last known movements in the week or so leading up to his death.

“Do you know Christopher? Have you seen him during the month of March?

“Any piece of information, no matter how small, could prove vital to our investigation so I’d urge you to get in touch.”
