Deserted Doncaster: Photo gallery shows empty streets as town returns to lockdown

Doncaster’s normally busy town centre streets have been eerily deserted today as the town returns to lockdown.

Our pictures show normally bustling streets and shops with just a handful of shoppers on day one of the Government’s 28 day lockdown which came into force at midnight.

Non essential shops, pubs and restaurants are all shut with a ban on household mixing also in place until December 2 in a bid to drive down the town’s spiralling coronavirus rates.

Our photographer captured the scenes in Doncaster town centre this morning.
